This branch is good if you are interested in learning about motors, transformers, generators, power generation etc. If you are interested only in pure electronics subjects then opt for electronics and communication branch. The placements are good. There are many co-curricular activities like dance, drama, coding clubs etc that are actively present. The girl's hostels are also pretty fine according to what I've heard from those living in the hostels.

Electrical isn't exactly one of the best choices in Sir MVIT. Some of the teachers are great but not all. They don't encourage participation in co - curricular activities. This is the least favored branch for placements by most companies, besides mechanical and biotechnology. The hostel has a curfew time of 6 pm so you don't get to enjoy much. UPES Dehradun is one of the best colleges for electrical engineering, considering the faculty, placements and the co curricular activities.
