The GATE cutoff is evaluated based on the sum of the marks secured by all the candidates divided by the total number of students.

GATE cutoff score = Sum of marks secured by all the candidates/total number of students who appeared in the exam. The GATE conducting authorities will decide the GATE qualifying mark. Check previous year GATE cutoff here - https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-cutoff
