How is leather technology, for b tech,and what are its scope.

My rank in UPTU is 5678 gen rank and obc rank is 1352, i have passed in 2012 and my 12 % is 92.2%, i am interested in civil engg,but according to rank i dont think that i will get any govt college with civil ,so kindly tell me about leather technology and its scope if i do this from HBTI kanpur.
