LPU's Law programme is duly affiliated with the Bar Council of India (BCI) which is one of the Best in India in terms of quality education & creating excellent career aspects. There is a specific aim of- Targeting students with an interest to pursue legal education with social sciences to benefit society. The eligibility is pass with 50% aggregate marks in Graduation (any stream) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST or ISAT. Creation of well-trained and dedicated professionals in the legal framework. The law programs are approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The School of Law has an MOU with the NLSIU Bangalore (India's Top Law School) for student-faculty exchange, research, seminar, conference, curriculum development, etc. School of Law has MOU with the Lawyered, Legal services online platform. LPU's law school is associated with the Punjab State Legal Service Authority, Jalandhar and Kapurthala District Legal Service Authority, Punjab Police, etc. The curriculum is benchmarked against premier law schools. The curriculum is one of the best among the premier law schools. An equal importance is given to practical training along with theory papers to boost the confidence of students as and when they enter into Bar. Hi Sameeksha, Law department at LPU is one of the first departments that came up when LPU was taking its shape. According to NIRF ranking the Law School is ranked 24th. The vision of the school is studying by books is not a rule of Law. The course aims at preparing the students with an interest to pursue legal education with social sciences to benefit society. Creation of well trained and dedicated professionals in legal framework. It also aims at nurturing a graduate with in depth knowledge of different aspects of laws comprising civil, criminal, taxation and international laws and ensuring conceptual clarity for judicial services aspirants. Law students are prepared to spot legal issues from a set of hypothetical facts and brainstorm various legal consequences, to be a perfect legal professional. The courses are approved by the Bar Council of India. The Career guidance magazine Higher Education Review has recognised Law School at Lovely Professional University among top-ten most promising institutions of India for its capability of producing next-gen legal professionals. The eligibility criteria for the course is 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English or equivalent. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. For SC ST applicants there is 5 percent relaxation while there is 3 percent relaxation for the OBC candidates. In addition to it, for North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants) too there is 5 percent relaxation. The LPU students were invited by Punjab Police for an internship where they were taught nuances of investigation. The university has an MOU with NLSIU Bangalore for various academic programmes. LPU Law school is one of the best law colleges in the country. The School of Law, governed and regulated by the Bar Council of India (BCI), is one of the best Law colleges in India. The curriculum for all the courses is also determined by BCI. To keep the students on top of the latest trends in the field of law, The School of Law takes initiatives to modify the curriculum as and when the need arises. Students have undergone internships at various High Courts, law firms, law chambers, commissions, corporate houses, and NGOs. The Alumni are working as Judicial officers, Legal practitioners, and Corporate advisors, and Civil servants. LPU believes that real learning takes place outside the classrooms. Therefore, students are encouraged to supplement their classroom learning by participating in Moot court and debate competitions that are organised for them.
