How is LPU in terms of research. I am planning for my Ph.D.

Option 1 Classes on weekends (Saturday & Sunday only) Option 2 4 days course work every month (Preferably every second week: Thu-Sun) Option 3 15 days of course work (In the month of April/May ) LPU researchers won a huge research grant worth 10.8 Million through Indo Canadian Impact project from DBT, GOI.

Hi Pragati, both Full Time & Part time Ph.D. programs are available in LPU. In Case of Ph.D. Part Time programme, applicants are required to submit an NOC (No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of admission. Other than Engineering disciplines, Students who have done their Masters in Distance Mode, are eligible for Ph.D. programme. Duration of Ph.D. programme will be Minimum 3 Years & Maximum 6 Years (2 Years extra relaxation is also there for the female students). LPU offers flexible course work in three different options and tentative schedule is mentioned below: Option I Duration - One semester - August to November 2021 - Saturdays 03:00 P. M. - 05:00 P. M. Sundays 09:00 A. M. - 04:00 P. M. Option II Duration - 4 days* every month (*preferably every second week (Thursday-Sunday) September to December 2021- 09:00 A. M. - 06:00 P. M. (daily) Option III Duration - 15 days - November to December 2021 - 09:00 A. M. - 06:00 P. M. (daily) For Full Time Ph.D. students : After presenting a State-Of-the-Art (SOTA) seminar, there is a fair chance for the students to pursue teaching assistantship in LPU only. Though the selection completely depends upon the selection committee & requirement. There are huge scholarship opportunities for the Ph.D. students 1) Upto 90% for Full Time and 70% for Part Time on the basis of LPU NEST cut off 2) Scholarship of up to 90% of the Programme fee is offered in Ph.D. programmes on the basis of GATE/ GPAT/ SPM/ JRF/ NET (LS)/ affiliations and/ or research outcomes. For example candidates from Centrally Funded Research Labs/ Industry Professionals/ Teaching Fraternity etc. Are considered for various Scholarship.

Hello! LPU is always in talks regarding Research and Innovations. Research and Innovation is at the core of LPU. Responding to the immediate need of the hour, LPU contributed by undertaking purposeful research to combat the situation arised due to COVID-19 pandemic. Few of such projects are : a. Creating $ 1 million fund for COVID-19 specific research b. Development of Bharat Suraksha Yantra' c. Smart dustbin d. UV racket e. KAWACH, a pendant f. Cloud-based, AI-powered interface to detect COVID-19 from X-rays, CT scans g. Sensor-based Sanitizing POD LPU is receiving regular funds on research projects in various disciplines like engineering, biotechnology, health care, agriculture, management etc. Recently, two ERASMUS projects, one on green economy and other on women entrepreneurship have been awarded to LPU by European Union. RESEARCH COLLABORATIONS Executing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with research institutes/universities and industries for the purpose of joint research, student and faculty exchange, joint seminars and conferences. LPU is working in one of the projects in consortium entitled Enhancing Green economy in 3 countries of Asia jointly with 15 institutes across the globe including Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg (OVGU), Germany, WMU GmbH, Germany, University College of Southeast Norway, Baltic International Academy, BIA, Latvia etc. Funded by European Union under ERASMUS programme. LPU has become a research driven university that encourages innovation in every field and has been recognised worldwide. # Innovative research carried out in LPU has resulted in 168 granted and 400+ filed IPR in the last five years. (IPR refers to patents, copyrights and design registrations) # 9000+ research papers in the last 5 years # 20000+ book chapters written by faculty and students in the last 5 years # 400+ research collaborations # University H-index 42 # External grants received 78.98 crores. # Conferences 8 to 10 conferences are held annually leading to research collaboration.
