Hey Rohan, Mechanical engg is well established in India whereas automation engg is not that much available nor in demand. It is still picking up in India. However there are universities offering automation also. Finally it depends on your interest which one you consider fine to go for. In my opinion

thank you very much ...can u plz tell me is this true that most of the PSU s don't consider mechanical and automation engg equivalent to mechanical engineering???? what should I do then?
