Oracle is widely used by space research organisations for data storage and decision making. Oracle provide a common set of querying tools so that it becomes possible for users to integrate data across different space centers and to combine data from the active archives with data from long-term data centers in order to identify patterns (e. g. , environmental influences on galaxy evolution) and monitor long-term variations and trends (e. g. in land use or climate). .
