How is PG Diploma different from Masters? Is there any disadvantage in taking Diploma?

Post-graduation Diploma courses are typically a shorter duration than a full time degree and they also cost less than a Master's degree, in addition one can assume that a PG is for the introduction into a new field of discipline, whilst Masters is considered an advanced stage to the initial studies
