Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy, or SASTRA Deemed to be University is one of the popular deemed-to-be universities in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. SASTRA was established in the year of 1984 as Shanmugha College of Engineering and conferred the deemed to be university status on April 26, 2001. NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) has accredited SASTRA Deemed to be a University with an A plus grade and the Institution of Engineers (India) has also accredited all the Bachelor of Technology programs offered by the university. TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) Ltd has accredited SASTRA with an A grade.
