The teaching profession requires expertise in subject, experience as year of teaching and higher degrees to grow in terms of salary and stature. Post graduation, followed by doctorate will lead you up to Professor post. As a professor, post of HOD, membership of various educational societies, conducting examinations, organizing events like Seminars, workshop and excellence center etc are some key works which will progress one's carrier. But to become Principal/Director, you require administrative experience. To become Vice Chancellor, you require to guide minimum two Ph.D., write a book and publish a good number of International papers. Salary of a Director of an engg college is from 1.5 lac up to 5 lac PM, depending upon the college grading, location, reputation etc.

In college teaching carrier you can start from assistant professor and grow up to Vice chancellor and salary starts from Rupees 15,000/- to grow up to Rupees 1,50,000/-. this profession needs a great devotion and dedication towards grasping knowledge.
