The teaching in AFMC is more clinically oriented. The effort taken by the faculty is immense with most of them being Afmc alumni. The teaching quality is the best among the medical colleges in India. There is much topic oriented teaching with better facilities.

The faculty recruited at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) includes only professional and experienced staff members. Most of the faculty are credentialed with some holding MD, MS or PhD and accumulated teaching experience of greater than 10 years. Now defence services assume an influential role in medical research for society and training for their service personnel. AFMC is recognised for its favourable faculty towards carrying out proper academic and academic enrichment programs, thereby offering quality education training, guidance and core exposure to MBBS students.
