How is the overall college review as I am confused between Welingkar, Mumbai and IMT, Nagpur for PGDM marketing? How is campus life?

Dear Aman, IMT Nagpur is doing quite well in management studies, has earned a good reputation for itself and Welingkar is a legendary B-School so, if you get through Welingkars its fine, but IMT nagpur certainly isn't the best, there are a lot of better players, LPU is one of the top one. The MBA programme at LPU is a great mix of cutting edge curriculum, experiential learning pedagogy, industry interface, projects, internships and consultancies, technologies trainings and many more. The sheer size of campus and number of students provides a plethora of opportunities to students to explore their entrepreneurial skills. The multicultural intake ensures that students learn and understand cultural sensibilities which become an asset in corporate life. The most striking point however is the center for professional enhancement, the students are exposed to new ideas about personality development, professional etiquette, virtues, ethics, interpersonal and networking skills for almost full duration of the programme rather than just a few weeks of placement trainings. This inculcates these qualities in the students in much better way and go a long way into shaping the career apart from cracking the interviews. Coming to reputation, since you asked, NIRF a government agency has ranked Mittal School of business among top 50 B-schools in the country twice in a row, in some of the parameters it has even beaten most Iims and ranked no. 2 in the country ! More importantly, more than 200 companies visit the campus for recruitment of management grads only ! Which is a huge number and a big achievement. More than 97% of eligible graduates get their dream placements. It is not like any other university, you can SEE it from the first step of selection, even Iims have basic eligibility of 50% in graduation, while LPU has raised the bar to 55%. Dear Aspirant, For marketing specialization, you can definitely choose IMT-Nagpur without question. The faculty, curriculum and the course is structured to give you the best of industry requisites in the best possible way. The campus life at IMT-Nagpur is very varied and has multiple facets to it. There are scores of activities going on each day and being a residential campus, it is home away from home.

IMT Nagpur is good for marketing. Though all the colleges you have mentioned are equally good for marketing, but I would recommend IMT Nagpur. It has lush green 27 acre campus situated at 35 km milestone with all the required facilities in the campus. The campus has great architectural prowess in terms of infrastructure and has labs established by IBM. Overall, IMT Nagpur is a good management college for marketing with companies like ABRL, Nielsen, TVS, TATA AIG coming to the campus for campus placements. Also, the average package is around INR 7.5 lakhs per annum.

As per my suggestion go for Welingkar without giving a second thought. This college changes you completely as a person with personal grooming, business exposure, academics, focus on every student. Campus is learning oriented and activities are mostly inclined to business arena. It shapes and prepared you for business world with good placements. Extra curricular activities and innovative teaching methods help you grown as a person.A drastic change and growth will be there once you come to this college. All the best!

Hello,Welingkar fares better than IMT Nagpur due to its better rankings, brand name, alumni base, prime location, placements. The only thing lacking is a good campus life; rest all is in favour of WeSchool. Good luck.
