Aerospace engineering in Amrita is a relatively new department. However, it has excellent faculty members all of whom have a PhD from a university abroad. The placements however, are very limited and the companies visiting for campus recruitment are very few. Companies who have already visited in the previous years are Goodrich Aerospace, Saffran etc. However, these companies have recruited more mechanical engineering students vis a vis aerospace engineering graduates. Aerospace is a specialized branch of engineering which deals with the skills and knowledge to design, manufacture and maintain spacecrafts, aircrafts, missiles and weapons systems.
