The PSUs recruit fresh graduates every year who qualify GATE. The cut-offs vary with the company and are usually high. Secondly, ESE conducted by UPSC is another way into the government sector. To be more specific, Border Roads Organisation, CPWD, MRTH, MS, IOFS, Railways, Survey of India etc. Similarly, there are vacancies at the state level in state engineering services conducted by SPSC in Rural Engineering Services, PWD, Irrigation Department, Ground Water Department, etc.
