The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at BIT-Mesra was established in the year 1983 and is now recognised as one of the leading departments with infrastructure and facilities to match the very best in the country. The department remains committed towards its mission, which is two-fold. One is to provide students with the fundamental knowledge and problem-solving skills in computer science required for a fulfilling career. The other goal is to create and disseminate knowledge to improve Computer Science research, education and practice. The department has academic collaborations with the University of New Brunswick, Canada, University of Melbourne, Australia and University of Manitoba, Canada. Admissions are done on the basis of JEE Mains CRL ranking and class XII marks. A minimum of 75% or top 20 percentile in your state board is required for a general candidate.

From the faculties to the internships, placements opportunities, CSE in BIT Mesra is pretty good. You can get a seat here by scoring around 170 in JEE Mains.

Hey, The branch CSE in BIT-Mesra is quite good. The faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. The environment for both the coders and developers are good as we have weekly contests to boost us up. Then this year we are organizing our own hackathon which is presumed to be grand success with considering the no. of registrations. Coming to placements, CSE has a track record of the highest placement of 35lpa CTC. Almost all the students are placed. Major companies include Microsoft, Goldman Sacs, Wipro, Infosys, Directi, Makemytrip, Amdocs etc. The average package of this department runs around 5lpa. Mainly getting into the college is not that tough but requires a bit effort. A score of 160+ in JEE Mains can assure a seat in CSE in this college for general category. For jharkhand quota, the marks may fall down to 140+ and around.

Placements of CSE is quite good enough, I mean almost every single got placed who deserves. Big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Direct, Wipro comes here and offer a package of average 10L and the highest was 27L. Training and placement cell works hard for good placements. Infrastructure: The college provides free Wi-Fi facility. Many areas get the full Wi-Fi signal. So the students are always up to date. The college has good classrooms and hostel rooms. There is no water problem in the college. Water coolers are also provided everywhere in the academy and hostel. The quality of food is good. The library is awesome. The students take part in many fests. Faculty: The faculty members in BIT college are very good. They help you a lot. There is no complaint about them.
