Hello,
GATE can be attempted any number of times. There is no upper age limit also. The exam is conducted by 7 IITs and IISc. The exam is conducted to select candidates to M.Tech. The test comprise of subject model questions only.
Also there is no age limit for CAT. Graduation from any of the recognized universities is the education qualification requirement. This qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 50% marks. Reserved category candidates need to have a minimum of 45% marks. One can attempt CAT any number of times.
Good luck.
Thank you. -
There is no restriction on the number of times one can take the GATE exam. The number of GATE attempts that may be made is entirely up to the individual. While some PSUs may list 28 or 30 as the maximum age, the number of GATE exam tries required for admission to research and post-graduate seats is totally up to the institution.

6 years agoThere is no limit on the exam attempts for CAT and GATE. You can write it as many times as you can. But I would suggest you to take the exam without a gap year I. e. straight after you graduate or with work experience without any gap in between. This is because sometimes the interviewers can grill you about it and they expect a good explanation for the time lost/wasted in between for preparation or whatever sake. Try to give your best in the first attempt itself!
All the best. -

It is verified by the official website of GATE that there is no restriction on the number of GATE attempts. You can attempt CAT exam unlimited number of times throughout your life unless and until you hold a Bachelor's Degree with minimum 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA awarded by a recognised university or educational institute. Good luck.
