There are no fixed number of attempts for appearing in SSC CGL exam. The minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in CGL is 18 years and a Bachelor's degree. For some posts the maximum age limit is 27 and for some posts it is upto 30 years. A person from reserved category OBC, SC, ST, PwD and Ex-servicemen are given age relaxation for appearing in the exam. Till the time you fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria you can appear for the CGL exam.

According to the official notification of the SSC CGL there is no limit on the number of attempts you can make for this exam. If you meet the SSC eligibility requirements, you can take the CGL exam. This requirement is to have a graduate degree from a recognised university. There is, however, an age limit for appearing in CGL. This limit varies for different categories, and for general category students, the age limit is 32 years. There is also an age limit for each post, such as Sub Inspector in Narcotics, for which you can only apply if you are 25 years old.
