The number of attempts at the CDS exam for the OTA is unlimited. You can take this exam as many times as you want until you reach the age limit of the Officers Training Academy. As per UPSC guidance, there is no cap on the number of attempts in the CDS (OTA). There is, however, a restriction on age,

Hi there is no ceiling on the number of attempts for CDS. But the candidates can only appear for the exam until the age of 24 or 25 depending upon the force they are applying for. Like army navy and air force Ima and ina iaf.
