There are approximately 3,670 BTech Mechanical Engg. colleges in India, out of which 460 come under government jurisdiction, 3,077 are private colleges, and 26 are public-private. Some popular government BTech Mechanical Engg. colleges are the IITs, NITs, DTU, Jadavpur University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Netaji Subhas University of Technology, College of Engineering, Pune, etc.
Coming to the private BTech Mechanical Engineering colleges, some popular ones include VIT Vellore, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, BITS Pilani, Chandigarh University, Thapar University, and LPU.
