The campus at SUNY Albany is divided into two areas: the Uptown Campus and the Downtown Campus. The Uptown Campus is the main campus and is located at 1400 Washington Avenue in Albany, was designed in 1961-62 by renowned American architect Edward Durell Stone. The buildings are built in bold unified design and feature domes, towers, and fountains. The main library, Performing Arts Centre, and the Atmospheric Sciences Research Centre are all located at the campus. Besides, the main library, the other three are also within the premises.
