How many candidates can apply in the IAS exam? How many of them gets selected?

Above 10 Lakh people enroll for the exam in which half give paper of prelims. For Mains around 13000-15000 are selected. Only approximately 3000 students are selected for interview. If you qualify you will see your name in list of around 1200 people.
