India has 56 central universities. These universities are established by an Act of Parliament and are funded by the central government. Here are a few examples:
1. University of Delhi (Delhi)
2. Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi)
3. Banaras Hindu University (Uttar Pradesh)
4. Aligarh Muslim University
