Every year, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHESC) Guwahati conducts exams for the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination for class 12 students. The Council prescribes the syllabus and exam pattern and examinations are conducted in two shifts, I. e. the morning shift (9:00 am to 12:00 noon) and the afternoon shift (1:30 pm to 4:30 pm) across the state. It gives 25% of the total score as grace marks to mentally impaired and hearing impaired aspirants. These grace marks are provided to aspirants who pass the exam without any assistance.
