  • The number of vacancies in the UPSC Civil Service Exam is declining with each passing year but the number of IAS officer recruited every year remain steady at 180. The number of such recruitment is based on the Baswan Committee recommendation which recommended recruiting 180 IAS officers every year to fill the gap between the required numbers and actual recruitment.
