You need above 75% in 12th to be eligible for JEE Mains.

75% is enough for the eligibility but issue is meeting other criteria too.

JEE Mains doesn't depend on 12th marks. You should get above 75 percentile.

The candidates must have secured minimum of 75% marks in class 12 or they should be in the top 20 percentile in class 12. The candidates who will belong to SC/ST category should have minimum 65% marks in class 12. For eligible in JEE Mains.

JEE Mains announce separate cut off for the state board student. When I am appearing in JEE Main exam in 2014, the cut off of Bihar board student is 335. Accordingly, they call for JEE Advance. For central board you should be in top 20.

It totally depends on your basis knowledge. If you get 85 percent in 3 subject, then you are appropriate to sit in her Mains.

Hello Himanshu, For JEE Main 2017: Engineering candidates vying for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for premier engineering institutes from 2017 onwards will be required to score75 percent marks in their Class 12 board examinations.
