  • The marks of the last candidate selected in the IAS exam differ each year. It is a competitive exam and the candidates are arranged in the order of their merit. This merit list is compared with the number of vacancies available that year. The Commission select only that many candidates who are required to fulfil the available vacancies. The marks of the last selected candidate in a particular category are called the Cutoff for that category. There are no minimum marks mentioned to get into IAS or IPS. The candidates need to check the cutoff of their category.
