Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is the full form of MBBS. A bachelor's degree in medicine, surgery or MBBS is a five-year undergraduate medical degree programme. It is taken from the Latin phrase Medicinae Baccalaureus Chirurgiae. MBBS course duration is of five years and six months including one year of rotational internship at hospitals, health centres, and health camps organised by non-profit organisations (NGOs). There are 70 colleges in Uttar Pradesh that offer MBBS courses in a full-time mode of study. Among them, 18 colleges are private and around 8 colleges are public/government.
