    There are 46 chromosomes in our body that are present in pairs. therefore there are 23 pair of chromosomes in human body out of which 22 are known as autosomes and last pair of chromosomes is known as sex chromosomes.

    In humans, each cell normally contains 23 pairs of chromosomes, for a total of 46. Twenty-two of these pairs are called autosomes.

    Hi Harsh,
    There are 23 chromosomes in cell. They are found in pairs i.e. 46 chromosome (2 of each). Also, for your knowledge, I would like to tell you one Science fact that a small little butterfly contains 238 chromosome.
    As a student of biology, I would also like to tell you that, these 46 chromosomes (2 of each) plays a vital role in human body.
    Among these chromosome, if there is an absence of any chromosome, it would led to many chromosomal abnormalities like, Down's syndrome, Klinefelter's Syndrome, etc. Try to ask more and more questions to gain knowledge about alchemy of Biology.

    There are 46 chromosomes. Out of 46, 23 paired chromosomes are sex chromosomes. They are denoted as X and Y. Y is larger than X.
