Candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria and specified aggregate for admission to any of the UG or PG courses of MDU Rohtak. Below is the eligibility criteria for top MDU courses:

| BTech | Class 12 with at least 45% aggregate |
| MBA | Bachelor's degree/ Shastri examination (new scheme) of a 3 year duration with at least 50% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates of Haryana) |
| LLM | LLB (Professional) with a minimum of 50% aggregate |
| MA | Bachelor degree/ Shastri examination (New Scheme) of 3 year duration with at least 45% marks in aggregate (42.75% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates of Haryana only) |
| MFA | Class 12 with at least 45% marks in aggregate (42.75% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates of Haryana only) |
