There are around 440 Production Engineering colleges in India, out of which around 268 are private colleges, 122 fall under government jurisdiction, and the rest 8 are public-private colleges. Some popular student choices for private colleges include Thapar University, LPU, Birla Institute of Technology (Mesra), PSGCT Coimbatore, and Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

Coming to the popular government colleges for Production Engineering, IIT Delhi, DTU, NIT Trichy, IIT Roorkee, Jadavpur University, and NIT Rourkela clearly stand out for their excellent learning space and placement opportunities.
