Ranchi University follows the rules of reservation as per the Govt of Jharkhand. As per the reservation policy, a total of 50% of seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC category candidates. The seat reservation breakdown for the SC/ST/OBC category is as follows:
- 26% of seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes (SC) category
- 10% of seats have been reserved for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category
- 14% of the seats have been reserved for the OBC category
