How many students appear for WB Board Madhyamik exam every year?

The Theory paper of WB Board Class 10 carries 90 marks. A total of 10 marks is allotted for the internal assessment. Total marks are 100. 

A good rank in West Bengal Board Madhyamik exam is generally considered to be in the top 10 to 50 merit list. Students are required to score 680 to 690 out of 700. Securing 90% is considered to be good.

To pass WBBSE Class 10 exam, students need to achieve 34% overall. This means at least 272 out of 800 total marks. Candidates must pass each subject individually, with a minimum required score.

If you do not qualify in West Bengal Board Class 10 2026 exam, apply for a compartment or supplementary exam. This can be taken if you have failed in only one or two subjects. Students failing in three or more subjects cannot take the compartment exam. They need to reappear next year.
