How many students apply for NDA exam and qualify it?

<p>Around two to three Lacs candidates apply for NDA exam. The written exam of NDA is cleared by around 8000 to 10,000 candidates. Such candidates are called for SSB interview. The pass percentage in SSB interview is around 10 to 15 per cent. Many students are rejected on medical ground as well. After the medicals, a merit list is prepared which features around 580 to 650 candidates. First 350 to 380 candidates are invited for admission to NDA and INAC. Some candidates do not join and some are not able to cope up with the tough training process. NDA selection process is bit tough therefore it takes about six months preparation to crack the exam.</p>

<p>One of the most coveted defence examinations in the nation, the NDA is used to choose applicants for admission to the Indian Naval Academy and National Defence Academy programmes. The exam is given twice a year to choose male and female applicants who meet the requirements. Approximately 2.5&ndash;3 Lacs applicants register for the exam each year, out of which 4-5 Lacs students actually take it. Out of all the students who take the exam, about 7-8 thousand pass. This indicates that just 2.5&ndash;3% of applicants receive invitations to move on to the SSB interview round. An SSB interview and a written exam make up the NDA exam selection process.</p>

<p>Every year, the NDA examination sees a registration of approximately 4-5 Lacs candidates, out of which around 2.5-3 Lacs candidates actually appear for the exam. From this group, only about 7-8 thousand students manage to pass, making the pass percentage around 2.5-3%. These successful candidates are then invited to the next round, which is the SSB Interview. The NDA examination is held twice a year, and in each batch, approximately 350 candidates are selected, with a rough distribution of 225 for the Army, 50 for the Navy, and 75 for the Air Force.</p>
