    The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology Nirjuli was founded in 1984. NERIST Nirjuli is a deemed-to-be university that is autonomous, fully sponsored, and managed by the Government of India's Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD). The NERIST Nirjuli offers four levels of programmes that include undergraduate, diploma, postgraduate, and doctoral.
