    BE/B.Tech biotechnology course is all about using concepts of Biology for tweaking and modifying biological systems, cell structures, biological processes, etc. so that they can be used in engineering and technology-related applications to improve and enrich various sectors such as healthcare, food processing, agriculture and pharmaceuticals.

    For the first year the course is common to all. There will be 5 subjects in each semester (2 sems in first year) added to it an extra subject(with lesser weightage). 2nd year onwards the subjects will be different for different courses.

    BE/B.Tech biotechnology course is all about using concepts of Biology for tweaking and modifying biological systems, cell structures, biological processes, etc. so that they can be used in engineering and Technology related applications to improve and enrich various sectors such as healthcare, food processing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, etc. and solve problems arising in these sectors.
    In case of 1st and 2nd semesters, set of common Engineering subjects are present, along with workshop session.

At PES University, the minimum eligibility varies with courses. However, the common eligibility for UG programmes is passing Class 12 with atleast 50 % of aggregate marks. For PG programmes at the university, the minimum eligibility is Bachelor's degree with atleast 50% of aggregate marks in the relevant stream. The sleection criteria for both the programmes is entrance based.

PES University conducts PESSAT for admission into BBA programme. The minimum eligibility for the programme is passing Class 12 with atleast 50% of aggregate marks. Scoring 60% in Class 12 makes the candidate eligible for admission into BBA. However, the candidate must qualify PESSAT and the subsequent personal interview round to get a confirmed seat in the course at the university.

No, PES university admissions are entrance based with the university accepting only PESSAT scores for UG and PG courses. The university does not make exceptions in it's selection criteria, i.e., all candidates interested in getting admission into the university must qualify the entrance exam conducted by the university.
