GATE exam is conducted only once a year to offer admissions to master's and PhD programs at top institutions, such as IITs and NITs. Qualifying GATE exam also paves way for technical jobs in in PSUs. GATE exam is conducted once in a year. The exam is conducted usually in February for admission to M.Tech programme offered at IITs, NITs, IIITs. This exam is also accepted in other colleges for admissiont to M.Tech courses.

The GATE examination is held only once a year. Generally, it is conducted on weekends for the convenience of aspirants in February.
