How many vacancies are there in the IAS 2023 exam?

  • The Union Public Service Commission UPSC notified 1,105 vacancies in the IAS 2023 exam. The Commission will conduct the IAS prelims 2023 exam on May 28. These vacancies are the highest in the last six years. It does not change the number of IAS and IPS recruited this year also. There will be 200 IPS officer posts and 180 IAS officer posts in the exam. The higher vacancies imply a low cutoff at each stage of the IAS examination. The IAS vacancies have a motivational value as it drives a higher number of application forms which makes the exam more difficult.
