Hello Satanu,
1) It is the relative marks which are going to affect your admission not your marks. If most of them have not scored up to their potential and you have done somewhat well then there is good chance to get good rank. However it is not a good argument of not getting admission in these colleges.
2) Second thing is that as only rank matters during admission so it depends on that either you are getting any reserved quota preferences. If this happens then it can increase your admission chance to a great extent.
