The cost of living at the UWM will vary from individual to individual and depend on the type of accommodation and lifestye. However, charges for housing and meals are divided into two roughly equal amounts and posted to your PAWS account twice a semester, in July and January. Charges for the first semester are payable in late August.

Students must excel in academics and take part in extracurricular or volunteer activities relevant to the curriculum.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee does not ask for GRE scores from graduate applicants. However, graduate students prefer to submit it to support their weak application. In addition, international graduate applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent. They must submit certain admission requirements, including transcripts from the university/college attended, a letter of recommendation, a resume/CV, a writing sample, and English language requirements.
