The Ph.D. is a doctoral-level course that helps you become a scholar in your chosen subject. The fee for this course varies from university to university and can range from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1 Lacs per year. The government colleges usually charge a lesser fee. Some institutions, such as NIMHANS even provide a monthly stipend to their researchers. Private universities usually have a higher fee. Most Ph.D. aspirants go to apply for UCG NET in order to get a JRF worth Rs. 31,000 that will help cover their Ph.D. fees. If you are selected for a government college based on your NET results, you may be eligible for a fellowship without a JRF.

Political Science, for example, allows you to work in one of the highest paying Ph.D. jobs, which makes this one of the best options. PhDs involving technology are also popular. Engineering, communications, and software-related programs all bring some of the most lucrative Ph.D. positions you can find.
