The marks difference between a General category and an EWS (Economically Weaker Section) student for the same rank in JEE Advanced varies each year based on factors like the total number of candidates, difficulty level of the exam, and seat availability. Typically, the EWS cutoff marks are slightly lower than the General category cutoff.

For example, if the General category cutoff is 85 marks, the EWS cutoff might be around 75-80 marks. The difference is usually 5-10 marks but can vary. This gives EWS candidates a slight advantage due to the reservation policy.
