Hi,
The assumption that packages are fixed if done from a particular university is utterly wrong. Packages are decided on the basis of the firms, company's, independent practitioners that are invited through the placement program; and not all students get the opportunity to sit for placements (only shortlisted candidates do). Further, your academic records and placement committee's efforts decide what kind of offer you might receive.
