Start today and you can get a good rank. Every person has a different speed and level of understanding. Most important thing is to stay motivated and think about what will you get after clearing the exam, how much do you want it. Make friends who have a similar goal and see how they are preparing. But in the end, it all comes down to those 3 hours, so do keep a backup plan just in case luck is not on your side that day.

In my opinion, this totally depends on you, as how much time you want to spend and also how much potential you have i.e. I am telling you my strategy. My friend and I decided to take GATE, and we are in the final year of graduation. So, our strategy was, we purchased the book of GATE 2019 and also previous year's paper, as it's syllabus contains all previous years B.Tech subjects. So, we will go through one subject and after that, you can solve previous year's questions according to it. There are also some websites which provide free mock tests where you check your knowledge or preparation. At last, I would like to say that it totally

    Hi,
7-8 months are sufficient to prepare, but if you want to score good marks, take one year time to prepare well.

I think 7 to 8 months are sufficient to prepare for GATE exam. The key to crack any exam is to be consistent and precise. Keep strict to your syllabus do not read anything. First 5 months revise concepts and give part test then at last 2 months give full-length papers and then with your mistakes revise the concept. That will be enough for getting a good rank.

Candidates will get only one scribble pad at a time. They must write their name and registration number before using it. If the rough sheet gets filled, then they can ask for another one scribble pad after returning the previous one to the invigilator. After the exam concludes, candidates must return the scribble pad to the invigilator.
