how much time it takes to crack IAS

i am an engineering 3rd year student , i want to crack ias .how much time it takes to crack ?wher to take coaching and what books should i refer please suggest me

well dear it may take one chance in one year or it may take many years and will depend on the basic knowledge u have and the understanding power and grasping power... also u have to be socially aware.. u need to know the latest topics current affairs and have strong hold on ur stream... all the very
