For English reading comprehension consists of 50% + paper. Always read only one para and write down in 2 lines simply what u understood about it. Do this for all 3-4 remaining paragraphs for 1 complete paraphrase. I will get the best gist of the comprehension. -

You can prepare the English section of CAT in following ways.
1. Read Hindu newspaper's editorial section thoroughly because it will improve you to answer better in passage based questions, jumbled sentence etc.
2. Improve your vocabulary by buying a book named Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis. It will be helpful.
3. Try no to make errors in grammar section as there is a high chance of making errors. You better not attempt confusing questions than making errors to avoid negative marking.
