GATE is an important as well as difficult exam in terms of the competition..so read the standard subject books of Your stream and u can take help from institutes like GATEFORUM & MADE EASY..but the ultimate hardwork lies with the student

Before going through GATE, one must have clear conception about his/her branch subject. Rest comes the next.

GATE is the most important and very tough exam to score to get admission in IIT for Post graduation in technology. You can prepare from your previous books or other materials or refreshers to prepare for it. All the best.

you can start preparation after your first year of engineering...or after graduation , but I think if you want admition in IIT and your decision is very sure then you have to start preparation from second or third year of engineering.... so Good Luck.. Try to Give your Best..
