    Focus on current affairs, do some research on the internet and find previous years questions and answers on the internet. You can easily find and see most of the questions are asked from history, geography, economics and political science. Be focused on these subjects and general knowledge.

    The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is considered to be the mother of all written examinations. It is a curriculum heavy examination especially at the Main exam stage. A candidate, therefore, has to begin preparation for the Main Exam and then for the Prelim. This is so because, if one starts his preparation for the Main exam after the having written the Prelim exam, he will have just four months (June to October) to prepare the Optional subject, Essay and General Studies, which is almost impossible to achieve.     The best way to prepare for UPSC exam is to join a coaching institute which has a good brand value. Rau's coaching institute, Delhi is a well-known institute. Other institutes are Career Launcher and Made Easy. Coaching institutes have a proper curriculum for all the subjects for Pre, Mains and interview. Subjective knowledge for Mains exam/interview needs smarter preparation and coaching institutes are best for the same.
