How should I select my engineering branch of interest?

There are two ways to look at this problem. First option: You go by elimination, which is you read about different fields of engineering and keep on eliminating them on the basis of your interest, boring subjects and what you truly live for instance: Chemical engineering - No way, I hated chemistry. Architecture - Maybe, why not. I do like designing . Civil engineering - Building only houses looked boring. Naval engineering - too hard to get in, but no real interest either. Mechanical - I could live with it, but Electrical looked more fun. Electrical - Sounded really fun. Second option: If you still have no clue about any of then this relax, this is not the biggest decision of your life as becoming old shall entail seriously tough decisions in life, bigger than what you have. Also, most engineering colleges give you an option to change your branch after the first year and you have options to choose from many electives in the 3rd and the fourth year. So chill Coming to your second option if you are unsure of the branch, go for the best institute as: 1.There will be few professors who are exceptionally good in their field of work. Their guidance can do wonders. 2. Being a top institute, it will attract the best talent with whom you'll be interacting on regular basis. You'll get a lot of learning from your batch mates, seniors, and juniors. 3. You'll be able exposed to better companies for your internships and campus interviews.
