When addressing any gaps in your professional or academic background, be honest and constructive in your MBA SOP. Indicate in brief why there was a lapse in communication, citing personal, health, or other reasons. Then, highlight the lessons you took away from the experience and the ways in which you developed. Emphasize any positive activities you did during the time off, including volunteering, picking up new skills, or growing yourself.
