Hello, Being an education consultant I know about one of the premier institution in India which is situated in Jalandhar, Punjab "Lovely Professional University" this is India's first private University to get the ICAR accreditation. B.Sc. In Agriculture Admission Process: Admission in universities or institutes offering B.Sc in agriculture course is done basically in two modes. It is done either based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (Direct Admission) or written exam conducted by the university/institution that offers the degree. Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% Admission Criteria Merit in qualifying examination, subject to eligibility criteria. How to Apply? STEP 1 - Signup Register to LPUs admission portal with basic details (Name, Email ID, Mobile No). Your email id will ACT as your username for the portal and password will be set by you while registering on the portal. You will get a mail on your registered email id regarding this. Login to the LPUs admission portal with already created username/ password. LPU is the only private university that has ICAR approval. LPU students got top packages from leading Agriculture companies. Students of School of Agriculture are placed in Dhanuka, HDFC Bank, Reliance retail, Syngenta, Bio SEED Nestle, Smur Agro, VLCC, Virbac, Amazon, Sanra organics and many more. The package really depends on what he can show to the recruiters that, how much he is worth or deserved. There were some students who cracked the placement and got offered 1 crore LPA, while many failed to do so. On an average the Agriculture students of LPU is offered and placed in the starting package of 5.5 TO 6 LPA (Fixed salary) while there may be cases of students getting less than that or more than that. Like I said, LPU will provide you the platform and the opportunity, but it is really you who have to go and perform on the platform being provided. This programme equips students with all-round knowledge of sector and normally includes the following: Agronomy: Basics of Agronomy, Kharif and Rabi Crop, Crop Protection, Weed Management, Irrigation Techniques, Water Resource Management, Organic Farming, Sustainable Agriculture. LPU has Hons programme in same as B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, which is a 4 year course in total. LPU is the first private university, to get the ICAR accreditation done for agriculture courses, not only this LPU has allocated a specific land for the practical learning and growth of agriculture student. Eligibility for the same is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent.
